Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to store. Some are needed for a site to work at all; others are optional. This page sets out which categories we use and how you control them.

Similar technologies

Alongside cookies, we use your browser's local storage to remember the choice you make in the banner. It behaves like a cookie from your point of view: it stays in your browser, it is not sent to us with every request, and clearing your browsing data removes it.

Essential cookies and storage do not require consent because the site cannot function properly without them. Analytics and functional cookies are set only if you accept them, either with "Accept All" or by ticking the relevant boxes in the preferences panel. If you choose "Reject Non-Essential", we set nothing beyond the essential items above.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, we do not embed third-party social media widgets, and we do not sell or share data collected through cookies with advertisers.

Changing your choice

Your preference is stored in your browser rather than in an account, so it applies to that browser on that device. To change it, clear the site data for choicegrdfriendflick.com in your browser settings; the banner will then appear again on your next visit and you can make a new selection. Where the banner is visible, you can also open the "Preferences" panel and save a different combination.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either generally or site by site, and most offer a setting to block third-party cookies by default. Look under settings for "Privacy", "Cookies and site data" or "Site permissions". You can also use private or incognito windows, which discard cookies and storage when the window is closed.

Blocking all cookies will stop this site remembering your banner choice, so the banner will reappear on each visit. Blocking essential cookies more broadly may affect how other websites work, so it is usually better to manage them per site.

Mobile devices

Mobile browsers offer the same controls in their settings, and mobile operating systems provide additional advertising identifier settings that affect apps rather than this website. Because we use no advertising cookies, those settings will not change anything you see here.

How this fits with data protection law

We handle any personal data associated with cookies as described in our privacy policy. Consent for non-essential cookies is requested in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and UK GDPR, and you can withdraw it at any time by the method described above. Visitors in the European Economic Area have equivalent rights under the ePrivacy rules and the EU GDPR.

Updates and questions

If we add or remove a category of cookie, we will update the table on this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again. If you have a question about anything listed here, or you think something is being set that is not described, please write to [email protected] and we will look into it.
